I was using this for scanning 35mm film negative to electronic files. Film loading is easy, but I question if the flimsy plastic frames actually control the film well enough. You cannot just lay it on the glass and scan, it will not work. Compare the scanners mentioned above side by side. Find a repair centre close. If you're serious about photography, though, the professional mode will likely be your preferred choice, with the ability to adjust a wide range of settings, including saturation, color balance, and gamma which effectively adjusts contrast differently for different epspn of brightness.

Although this kept the from earning a superior rating for its overall image quality, its merits earned it a respectable rating. One phoho our test slides, with a dark tree line against a bright sky, presents a particularly demanding test. Also, the 3 x 5 inch negatives and all those ancient sizes. The comfortably beats the rest. The Epson Perfection is a powerful scanner with versatile image-enhancing features, but its premium price makes it best suited for serious photographers and other detail-conscious users.

With its ultrahigh optical resolution of dpi, the is an ideal choice for those who want to make huge enlargements from small originals such as 35mm film frames.
The dual-format scans both paper and transparencies at a reasonably fast pace. Unfortunately, however, all of the dust-removal options are available for film scans only. ;hoto, 4, ppi is what it offers, which makes this scanner of particular interest to photographers with a large archive of mm or 2.
