What about a detailed description of the application used, what you tried to do with it and an exact error message?

Could just be a bad burner. Upgrading is what started my dilima to begin with. We are now researching DVD burners so we can spend yet more money to finally be able to do what we had originally purchased our computer setup to do.

A burner just needs to recognize a blank media, especialy dvd, to burn content onto it with the correct writestrategy that is backed up into the firmware.
Mon Aug 23, 4: Sorry Karan, I started the 2nd thread about what happens when you uninstall a device… but it ended up turning into the same topic too. I found, once, upon a fresh restart… it recognized one disc… but then after that, it never recognized another.

Mon Aug 23, 8: My computer specs are: Take one of your -R Verbatims because those are the only really decent quality media of the three and find a friend with a broadband internet connection and a DVD writer. Plus some fraction of the DVD burners may even have actually worked If it cannot, then there is no question, the drive is screwy.
